How to Block/Unblock Someone on Facebook and Messenger
To block someone on Facebook:
- Go to the profile of the person you want to block
- Click on the three dots in the bottom right corner of their cover photo
- Select “Block” from the dropdown menu
- Click “Confirm” to block the person
To unblock someone on Facebook:
- Go to the Settings menu by clicking the downward arrow in the top right corner of your Facebook page and selecting “Settings”
- In the left column, click “Blocking”
- In the “Block users” section, you will see a list of people you have blocked. Click “Unblock” next to the name of the person you want to unblock
- Click “Confirm” to unblock the person
To block someone on Messenger:
- Open a conversation with the person you want to block
- Click on the person’s name at the top of the conversation
- Click “Block”
To unblock someone on Messenger:
- Go to the “Settings” menu by clicking the gear icon in the top left corner of the Messenger window
- Click “People”
- Click “Blocked”
- Click “Unblock” next to the name of the person you want to unblock
- Click “Unblock” to confirm that you want to unblock the person
Note: When you block someone on Facebook or Messenger, they will no longer be able to send you messages or interact with you (except within group conversations that you’re both a part of). They will also be removed from your friends list, if you were previously friends.
