What Is Incognito Mode in YouTube and How to Use It

Incognito mode in YouTube is a privacy feature that allows you to watch videos on the platform without those videos being added to your watch history or search history. When you are in Incognito mode, YouTube will not save any information about your activity on the platform, including the videos you watch, the channels you subscribe to, or the comments you make.

What Is Incognito Mode in YouTube and How to Use It

To use Incognito mode in YouTube, follow these steps:

  1. Open the YouTube app on your device.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. In the menu that appears, tap “Turn on Incognito.”
  4. You will see a message confirming that you have turned on Incognito mode. From now on, any videos you watch on YouTube will not be added to your watch history or search history.
  5. To turn off Incognito mode, tap your profile picture again and then tap “Turn off Incognito.”

Note: Incognito mode in YouTube is only available in the YouTube app on mobile devices. If you want to use Incognito mode on a desktop computer, you can use a private browsing window in your web browser instead. To do this, open a new private window in your web browser and then navigate to YouTube.com.
